Bicyclists need to follow same rules as motorists

Editor, This is a problem all over Albuquerque, but on the UNM campus, it seems to be worse. According to the New Mexico Motor Vehicle Division's driver license manual, bicycle riders have the same rights and responsibilities as motor vehicle drivers. They must stop at traffic lights, signal their intentions and obey other traffic laws.

Public service jobs help ease student loans

Going into public service after graduation could erase some of your student loans. Under the College Cost Reduction and Access Act, students can have their federal student loans forgiven after 10 years of payments if they work in public service that whole time.

Influential two-fingered jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt still strikes a chord

A few weeks ago, Marcella and Eva, the culture department girls par excellence, had a party that featured the sounds of Albuquerque's gypsy jazz revivalist quartet, Le Chat Lunatique. When describing these guys to others, the name Django Reinhardt always comes up as a comparison, but it is frequently met with a blank stare or drooling. OK, the latter has happened only once, but it was memorable enough to mention here, and for good reason.
