Woman hit by bullet at game

A woman attending the UNM-NMSU football game Saturday night at Aggie Memorial Stadium was struck by a bullet fired from a small-caliber handgun, a spokesman for the NMSU Police Department said Saturday night.

UNM students gathered in Smith Plaza on Thursday afternoon as a student held up a sign that said “F**k these guys.” The student was protesting pro-life advocates who gathered there on Tuesday.

Film festival won’t charge students for submissions

For the first time, UNM students will have the chance to showcase their films at the University for free. The ASUNM Southwest Film Center will host the UNM Student Film Festival, the first film festival since 2004, in November. However, this year’s festival will include only films made by UNM students, and students won’t have to pay submission costs.

Although the Campus Office of Substance Abuse Prevention was denied state funding last year, the organization introduced a new anti-drunk-driving program with minimal student fee funding.

Cancer Center servers hacked

UNM Cancer Center patients’ personal information may have been accessed by hackers, who attacked the center’s server in July. Center officials said as many as 2,365 patients’ information, including Social Security numbers, names and addresses, may have been accessed.
