Staff vote will settle union’s fate

Ona Savage, a union organizer and UNM staff member, said her faith in people has motivated her to continue to push for collective bargaining despite more than six years of hurdles. “I believe that we can make a difference,” she said. “I have served on committees for over 15 years with little results, and I believe that a union can make a difference.”

Robert De Niro gives a stellar performance as Eddie Flemming, a tough New York City homicide detective, who is constantly in the media’s spotlight. A spotlight so bright that it seems as though he gets no work done.

Baseboard Heaters rock a small crowd

Baseboard Heaters rocked all 13 people in attendance at the Golden West Saloon concert Monday night. On its CD release tour with the band Mountain Con from Seattle, and on its way from South By Southwest, Baseboard Heaters knew within minutes of walking into the Golden West that it had not been booked at one of Albuquerque’s trendiest venues.

Physicist says that those who see UFOs are not ‘wackos’

Nuclear physicist Stanton T. Friedman told tales of alien abductions, showed slides of flying saucers and complained about blacked out military documents during his presentation, “Flying saucers are Real,” Monday. The Kiva Lecture Hall was packed for Friedman, who said he is the original civilian investigator of the alleged 1947 Roswell incident.

Donating old cell phones can further worthy cause

Editor, The recent trend of everyone having one of the new, small, slim cell phones leads me to believe there must be many of the older types put away in closets or drawers that are no longer being used. There is a critical need for all cell phones.
