I support all the UNM bus drivers. I support Bobby, Anna and Jerry. They have a difficult job dealing with 50 to 60 students rushing the bus at once in the hopes of getting to class on time. The drivers do an excellent job picking up as many students as they can without breaking the rules.
Advocates on both sides of the death penalty issued passionate arguments in defense of victims' families and accused criminals during a forum Wednesday at the UNM Law School.
Ahh, spring. The Outpost Performance Space rings in this time of rebirth with a hot March calendar of Jazz, folk, chorale and world beat music - just the thing for a warm weekend evening.
UNM administrators say they are hoping for the best and making contingency plans as the stalemate between legislators and Gov. Gary Johnson over next year's state budget continues.
City of Albuquerque employee Mike Bacca directs traffic around road work being done near Sara Reynolds Hall Wednesday.
As a half-breed, Mexican/White mix, I have a perplexing problem with regards to the "quota cookies" booth. Do I claim to be Mexican and buy my cookie for 25 cents or do I own up to my whiteness and pay $1.50 for the same cookie? Or, should I pay $1.75, because I am both a Mexican and white male? Or, should there be another price created for me since I belong to a different category than is listed on the price sheet?

UNM is going to get slammed with poetry tonight. Performance poetry is set to make a riotous stop in Albuquerque when WordCore, a band of national slam poets, kicks off its spring college tour at UNM.
Nikka Costa doesn't consider herself a sex symbol. If you've seen any of Costa's videos, such as the sassy one for her tasty breakthrough single "Like a Feather" or her publicity photos - the one featuring the top of her derriere peaking above her low-rise jeans is an Internet favorite - you're probably thinking to yourself, "Yeah, right."
On Wednesday, Feb. 20, I passed the courtyard outside of Popejoy Hall after finishing an early morning class. To my horror, I was met with the most disturbing and grizzly images I have ever witnessed. I left in tears, with a brochure in hand, hoping that I could simply forget what I saw.
UNM student Kenneth Armijo says his cooperative work experience through the University's NASA Training Project may be the ticket to a great job after graduation.
While the UNM women's basketball team may not know how it will fare in its final two games of the season this weekend, it does know bumps and bruises are in the forecast.
I am one of the people that Michael Carrasco would castigate as a "bleeding-heart liberal." I am from Massachusetts, I enjoy working at soup kitchens and I give money to people that need it more than I do. I am always grateful that I have the opportunity to live in a country that allows its residents to say whatever they want without fear of repercussions.
The UNM College Republicans sold "quota cookies" Tuesday at an affirmative action bake sale outside Zimmerman Library, with prices varying according to ethnicity.
