Ariel Sharon is using his declaration of war against terrorism as a ruse for Israel's ongoing brutal occupation of the Palestinian people, now in its 35th year. Under the occupation, millions of Palestinians have been subjected to daily humiliations and a complete and total negation of their rights as a people. I read the Daily Lobo article "Students question forced resignation" on Professor Monica Cyrino, and I must say I found it terribly misleading and outrageous. Your reporter did not take the time to interview more than one graduate student from Foreign Languages and Literature, nor did he take into account those who work directly with Professor Cyrino in the department.
