Information systems get upgrade for efficiency

The upgrades, which will affect some administrative processes, campus information systems and other support systems, are meant to increase the efficiency of services among University faculty, staff and students.

ASUNM senators vote in new agency

The Associated Students of UNM Senate voted unanimously to add the Community Experience as the seventh executive agency. It joins the Crafts Studio, Election Commission, Homecoming Committee, Lobbying Committee, Southwest Film Center and Student Special Events as committees that provide special services to the undergraduate student body.

Horse tests positive for West Nile in North Valley

The confirmation makes Bernalillo County the eleventh county to report the presence of the virus in horses.
N.M. Commission on Higher Education loses its director

Women's soccer team goes to Alabama for showdown
September 25Staff Report The UNM women's soccer team's Erchen Theys picked up another award Tuesday to go with the honor she received over the weekend. Theys, a junior midfielder, was named the Mountain West Conference Player of the Week Tuesday. That award comes after Theys took the Offensive MVP award at the University of Evansville's ProRehab Aces Classic in Evansville, Ind.
Faculty regent motion passes first test
Angela Williams | September 25UNM's Faculty Senate voted Tuesday to approve resolutions for both a new faculty regent on the Board of Regents and to hold an open forum for all presidential-search finalists. Faculty Senate President Beverly Burris said that the resolution to place a faculty regent on the board came from discussion and widespread support from faculty last year.

Cross country teams head west for Calif. invitational
Eric Howerton | September 25A mere two weeks after the UNM Lobo Invitational Meet, the men's and women's Lobo cross country teams will head for Palo Alto, Calif., for the 29th Stanford Cross Country Invitational. The meet, which takes place Sept. 28, will be UNM's first out-of-state meet of the season.
