Tabet Daily Lobo The UNM School of Medicine Office of Continuing Medical Education has been awarded a six-year reaccreditation, with commendation, by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education. Ellen Cosgrove, senior associate dean for the Continuing Medical Education office, said she is very pleased with the reaccreditation.
In 1993, UNM administrators converted the Zuni half of Hokona Hall from student dorms to office space for the College of Education - but Housing and Food Services was never compensated for the equivalent of the building's equity. Housing did receive some compensation in the form of reductions in operating costs and debt service, said Randy Boeglin, UNM dean of students and director of residence life.

Staff Report After a nationwide, five-month search that attracted more than 50 applicants, UNM Provost Brian Foster announced on April 8 a list of four finalists for the UNM-Gallup branch executive director position. "The search committee worked well together and, along with the national advertising campaign, put together a good pool," UNM Deputy Provost Richard Holder said.
Freshman Chris Ashcraft, who is running for ASUNM Senate on the Horizon slate, said his new ideas and fresh perspective would make him a valuable asset to the student government. Todd Greene, who is the founder of the Todd Greene Agency, an international sports speaker's bureau and graduate of the Communication and Journalism Department, gave advice and fielded questions regarding careers in communications and business during a conference call in one of the department's Business and Professional Speaking class Monday.
Officials at the Institute for Public Policy at UNM expect to have the results of a survey they are conducting regarding New Mexicans' opinions of the war in Iraq within a week. "We are looking for New Mexicans' point of view toward the war," said Amelia Rouse, deputy director of the institute.
Adrian "Tio" Vega said his communication skills and "lead by example" approach make him the students' best choice for the next president of ASUNM. "I'm a friendly guy; more than willing to help anyone who asks," Vega said. Vega, a current Associated Students of UNM senator who is running on the Vision slate, added that those already involved in student government, in addition to newcomers, would be able to follow his lead in addressing important campus issues.

Abby Hanson, executive director of Spring Storm, asked the hundreds of volunteers gathered at University Stadium to kick off the event dedicated to community service.
UNM administrators have named the restaurants that will fill the SUB, as well as the project's new completion date of July 1 - one that administrators say they are confident will be met. Walt Miller, associate vice president of UNM Student Development, said the eight SUB eateries will offer a variety of food including everything from the super healthy to french fries and hamburgers.
Carlos Guillen, who is running for ASUNM Senate on the Horizon slate, said he wants to establish a series of mid-semester "tell-alls," where students and other campus organizations can voice their concerns to the student government. "I formed that goal for our slate," Guillen said.

ASUNM senatorial candidate Craig Burgess, who is running as a member of the Horizon slate, said that if elected he would want to change UNM students' perception of the dormitories and the experience of living on campus. "UNM really goes out of its way to provide the best on-campus living conditions possible and living on campus is something that has gotten a bad reputation," Burgess said.
