On Saturday, April 5 the Albuquerque Isotopes saw a different story with the same outcome as Friday’s game when they played the Salt Lake Bees for the fifth game of the series. It was Mariachi Night, and the Isotopes certainly put on a show themselves, securing a 14-3 victory over the Bees.
The Isotopes started the game off strong, clocking in a run in the first inning. In the second inning, the Bees returned fire with a run of their own, tying the game at 1-1. However, it didn’t stay like that for long. When the Isotopes went up to bat, they secured a run right back, taking the lead 2-1.
The third inning saw a plethora of action from the Isotopes. In the top of the third, the Bees got what they were looking for and drove a runner home, tying the score to 2-2. When the Isotopes found themselves back at the plate, they looked unstoppable, scoring a whopping six runs. After this point, the Isotopes dominated the rest of the game with little action from the Bees.
The Isotopes continued to put runs on the board in the fifth and sixth innings, which saw a combined four runs come in, totaling the evening's score at 14-3.
The next day, the Isotopes lost to the Bees 5-3.
This week, the team will start a series in Sugar Land, before returning to its next home series on April 15.
