Freshman recruit Sammie Woodward will no longer be a Lobo, as announced by the University of New Mexico late Wednesday morning.
“The University of New Mexico women’s basketball team and head coach Mike Bradbury has announced the scholarship release of freshman guard Sammie Woodward. This release was granted upon the wishes of Woodward, as a personal choice unrelated to basketball. The women’s basketball program and coach Bradbury wish the best for Woodward in her future,” the release said.
The 5-foot-seven-inch 3-star guard was ranked as the second highest recruit in the Mountain West.
