For the third time since the end of the season, the New Mexico Lobos have announced yet another player headed to the show.
Junior lefty Colton Thomson became the second pitcher and third individual to be announced to a major league roster, after signing with the St Louis Cardinals.
Thomson served as UNM’s ace in the 2016 campaign going 8-2 with a 3.61 ERA. He had the team high 82 strikeouts in 15 appearances, and over a 3/1 punch out to walk ratio.
Last week, Chris DeVito (Kansas City Royals) and Alex Estrella (Tampa Bay Rays) were drafted, which will feature a major shakeup to UNM’s lineup next season.
