“If only people on the right would put as much energy into making it work as they would attacking it, it would work.”
This is the typical absurdity we get from Washington and the progressive left. But I’m not surprised. And of course, the reason their given program isn’t going so well is because those of us that have warned about it were exactly right. If we just submit to them, and jump on this destructive bandwagon, our combined willpower and good intentions will make it work.
Pathetic.
Time and time again I am right about this destructive ideology. I challenge anyone to show me where the ideology has worked, where their programs have worked; if so, I will dedicate another column to revealing the truth on the matter. Or I will write about where the free market would have unequivocally served us better.
I wasn’t sure if I wanted to pull the trigger and write about Obamacare too early as it expectedly unravels as one of the worst pieces of legislation in U.S. history. The website is just the tip of the iceberg on this problem. Expect there to continually be problems, finger pointing and more legislation and bureaucracy to “fix” it. Medicine and insurance have been infected with progressivism for decades, with the resulting problems unfairly blamed on the free market, and the remedy has always been more intervention and central control.
You should know by now that the government doesn’t need to work to earn your dollars; they confiscate them and then spend them in ways to keep themselves in power. We are merely lambs to be sacrificed to a tyranny of a majority by the almighty vote — and individual rights no longer protect us, as even the highest Supreme Court justices do not comply with these concepts of morality.
Of course, there will be brainwashing (tax-payer funded) Obamacare commercials that hold up babies and shower us with emotion.
They’ll lie and tell us that anti-central-planning advocates hate babies, hate the president and are racist. They will show you examples of a few people the health care law has helped, ignoring the magnitude of dollars it is costing us and the depleting levels of care. All the while they’ll hope that we will slowly forget how much better things used to be, and slowly accept their envious egalitarianism.
There can be no comparison for them with just one program and no competition. There can be no choice, just what they force feed us.
Insurance and pharmaceutical companies are also pleased with forcing people into this program. They love any new regulations that will keep any true capitalist competition suppressed. Their stock has skyrocketed, and the Obama administration will force payment on programs to all sorts of therapies and drugs, whether you need them or not. Insurance and Big-Pharma will rake in the dough with expanded crony capitalism.
Case in point: With the initial roll-out not going so well, insurance giants are a little worried for the present term, and have recently warned Congress against delaying Obamacare, as it will eat into their record profits.
Of course, we were told that Obama was standing up to insurance and pharmaceutical companies. We were told that this was going to be a wonderful step toward “progressive reform” on health insurance. We have been lied to, and will continue to pay a price until the next legislation to “fix” this merely layers itself on top.

Just this week, Obama started to blame the insurance companies once again, diverting the anger elsewhere. Lying is a tool of progressivism since, as you know, the ends justify the means. It is a tool for the ultimate goal of a single-payer system. It is a system that will turn out far worse for every American than the sickened one we have now, one instituted by the continual blame placed on the free market-demanding intervention, perpetuated by lies.
I wonder, if the U.S. government was a private-sector company, would that company still be around? Of course not. But this is government, they have a monopoly on the use of force and therefore can monopolize any industry that coughs up enough dough to contribute to their campaigns. And those progressive politicians that forced it on you will carve out exemptions for their friends, to be sure they get reelected and retain power. They won’t pay any price for this — you will, the poor will and the average American citizen will.
America, this is what you get when you believe the rhetoric of the great orator and that of “good intentions.” This is what you will continue to get, unless you release yourselves from the endless emotional brainwashing from Washington.
We need a system free of this crony garbage, this decrepit rot known as progressivism. We need to limit the power of this empire and turn back to a system of democracy and voluntarism. We need a system where we can take control of our own lives, and vote solely with our earnings. We need laissez-faire capitalism.
Why? Because it’s moral. And morality is the only way to defend against progressivism. You see, they will continue to blame others for their faults, and demand that we confiscate more wealth in other places. They will destroy human life, just like every other country that has slowly adopted socialism, fascism, or communism.
It is the same root philosophical tactic now present in the U.S., with a different name. For progressivism, such a name satisfies their envy of achievement, and their twisted goal of “fairness.”
