TT: “Yeah. No they’re great. They’re really great. Otherwise I would have never switched from ya know the Kentucky and all that. So oh yeah, no it’s great! The Lobos here do an awful lot for the Special Olympics. My son Justin here is in the Special Olympics. He just got honored just like a month ago. He got to go down on the field. They gave him shirts to throw in the crowd you know, and I mean they invited us to the game you know. That was fabulous!”
DL: Is there anything that you would like to share?
TT: “I’m now totally a Lobo fan. There’s no more Kentucky/Louisville whatever. I live here. I’ve been here 26 years. They’re my team now.”

Estrella Flores
Daily Lobo: How does it feel that the team lost?

Thelma Gaston
Daily Lobo: What does being a lobo fan mean to you?
Themla Gaston: “To me being a Lobo fan brings back a lot of memories of my dad. He was a Lobo fan and I became a Lobo fan with my dad. He had season tickets and he would take us as little girls. We started out at Johnson Gymnasium 100 years ago, and it’s a memory of my dad and I still enjoy the game”.
Anna Maria Aguilar
Daily Lobo: Do you think that Lobo fans are the best in the country?
Anna Maria Aguilar: “Oh for sure! Yes! We would follow them anywhere. I think the fact that people have traveled, drove 25 hours attests to how loyal the fans are. We just support them as a whole. I think that’s what’s great about Lobo fans and once you’re a Lobo fan, you’re a Lobo fan until you die.”
