Crime Watch

April 16

A student went the UNM Police Department to report a series of harassing phone messages. She said an unidentified man left the messages on the KUNM phone system. The man accused a KUNM DJ of playing a song that praised the devil. The man said he would punish the DJ and claimed to be a KUNM staff member. The police have no suspects.

April 17

An officer was dispatched to the Lomas Parking Structure after someone reported two men looking into vehicles. The officer said he was approached by UNM Hospital Security and notified they were holding one of the men. The man was lying on his stomach with his arms out to his sides. Next to his right leg was a screwdriver and cross-handle tire tool. The man said he had been breaking into vehicles with another man and woman. When he was searched, two needles were found in the sock on his left foot.

April 20

An officer was dispatched to the Coronado parking lot in response to a car burglary. A woman told the officer her car was broken into and her laptop, digital camera and purse containing her driver's license, credit cards and a pay stub, were missing. The car did not have any signs of forced entry and no fingerprints could be collected. There were no witnesses.
