Crime Watch

April 3

A UNM Police officer was dispatched to the Children's Psychiatric Center after a patient's family member threatened a receptionist. The receptionist said she told the patient's family they had an appointment at 8 a.m., and if they were more than 20 minutes late, they would have to reschedule. The receptionist said that when the doctor was treating the patient, the father told her he would like to strangle her. The man has not been identified, and the doctor was not available to give the officer a statement.

April 3

A student living in Hokona Hall told a UNM Police officer she was taking a shower when a maintenance worker entered the bathroom and startled her. The worker told the officer that he had a work order to fix a leaky shower valve. He said he knocked, announced himself and then entered the area. The worker apologized, and no charges were filed.

April 4

A UNM Police officer was dispatched to the Duck Pond where a golf cart was in the water. The officer helped a bystander remove the golf cart from the water and returned it to the UNM Family Housing staff.

April 5

A UNM worker told officers she received a text message from an unknown number that stated, "(Expletive) the guy in the green shirt for not displaying my text." The officer called the number, and the man who answered said it was only a joke. No charges were filed.

April 6

A UNM Police officer was flagged down by a security guard near Alvarado dormitory. The guard showed the officer a vending machine that had been broken into. The security guard said the machine had been pried open. The vending machine company was notified. There were no witnesses.
