German company opens plant for solar equipment

ALBUQUERQUE (AP) - A German company broke ground Monday on a plant here that will manufacture solar equipment, and state and local officials are looking to the venture to help make New Mexico a leader in the renewable energy industry.

Florida man kills one, self in Wendy's shooting spree

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) - A man opened fire at a Wendy's restaurant Monday, killing one person before committing suicide, authorities said. The shooter wounded at least three others. They were in critical condition, said Palm Beach County sheriff's spokeswoman Teri Barbera.

U.N. sanctions aim to halt Iran's uranium enrichment

UNITED NATIONS (AP) - The U.N. Security Council approved a third round of sanctions against Iran on Monday with near unanimous support, sending a strong signal to Tehran that its refusal to suspend uranium enrichment is unacceptable and becoming increasingly costly. For the first time, the resolution bans trade with Iran in goods which have both civilian and military uses.
