Preparing for finals isn't just about hitting the books.
Getting a flu shot now can help ensure students are healthy come December, said Jo Antreasian, a nurse at the Student Health Center.
"Influenza normally hits New Mexico just in time for finals," she said. "A true case of influenza will keep a student out of class for one to two weeks."

offers flu shots all month on campus, including the SUB and Anderson Schools of Management.
Clinics will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Tuesday and Friday until the end of the month.
"It can really wipe you out," Antreasian said. "If you can get out of bed and make it to class, it's probably not influenza."
The next clinic is Friday in Room 155 of the Student Health Center.
Shots are $13 for students and $20 for staff, faculty and members of the community.
Flu shots are free with Student Health Insurance Plan A.
Shots are given in October so students have time to build immunity, Antreasian said.
She said a common misconception is that people can get the flu from the vaccine.
Vaccinations are also available at the Student Health Center, open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, except Tuesdays when the center opens at 9 a.m.
