DL: Do you do cool experiments?

ES: I'm more into the nutritional side of things. I work at R Downs, too.

DL: What is that?

ES: It's a nutrition store, leaning more toward Westernized stuff. More like vitamins and herbals.

DL: What do you like to do on the weekend?

ES: I like getting out. Hiking's cool. I lay low quite a bit.

DL: Are you from Albuquerque?

ES: Yeah. I'm originally from Albuquerque. I started at KU (Kansas University), and then I transferred back.

DL: Why did you transfer back?

ES: For the medical program.

DL: What's the biggest difference between UNM and KU?

ES: Probably the culture. There's more of a cultural influence here. You've got more Hispanics here. It makes up like half the population here. You go to Kansas, and it's basically just a bunch of white people - Caucasians. That's a pretty big difference, cultural-wise.

DL: Do you like it better here or in Kansas?

ES: I like Albuquerque better. There's more outdoorsy stuff to do. I like the people better here, too. It's a lot more relaxed culture here.

DL: What are people like over there?

ES: It's kind of hard to generalize people. It's different because when you go to KU, more than half the campus is in frats and sororities. So, I don't know. It's more of a stuck-up kind of place. It's more about money. I don't know how to put it. It's a lot different than here. It's more relaxed (here). It's more environmental here.
