AG: Yeah.

DL: How did you decide that?

AG: I've just always been into computers and programming and stuff.

DL: Did you come to UNM straight from high school?

AG: Yeah.

DL: What was the biggest transition from high school to college?

AG: The move, I guess. The work's not that much harder.

DL: Where did you move from?

AG: From Roswell.

DL: Had you been to Albuquerque before?

AG: A couple times.

DL: What do you think about it?

AG: It's OK. It's a lot bigger than my hometown.

DL: What's the biggest difference between Albuquerque and Roswell besides the size?

AG: The people. There's a lot of different people here.

DL: What are the people in Roswell like?

AG: They're not very outgoing as much as people out here.

DL: Which do you like better?

AG: Albuquerque.

DL: Why?

AG: It's a better environment.

DL: What kinds of classes did you take this year?

AG: I took math 121, math 150, math 180, English 101, 102. I took hip-hop II. I took Spanish 211, sociology 101. I took an intermediate swimming class.

DL: What did you think of the introductory classes?

AG: They were pretty easy, just a lot of busy work, I guess.

DL: What do you think the biggest difference between high school work and college work is?

AG: College work you really don't have to do it. You don't have as much homework. It's better if you do it, but it's like the teachers really aren't on

your back.

DL: Do you think you learn more or less that way?

AG: Probably a little bit more.

DL: Why?

AG: Because you choose what you want to do. You choose what you want to learn, but if you don't want to learn everything, just don't take that class.

DL: What do you think about being in larger classes than in high school?

AG: They were a little bit harder to get to the teacher and ask questions on a personal level, as opposed to high school where there's 15 to 20 students.

DL: How did you deal with having more independence from high school and your parents?

AG: Well, I'm still kind of dependent on my parents. I didn't get a job or anything. They're not, like, out here to tell me what to, I guess.

DL: Do you have any advice for incoming freshmen?

AG: Don't take anything for granted. Do all your work. Don't think you can do it at the very end. Just keep up.

DL: Is there anything you would do differently now that you've been in college for a year?

AG: Don't spend as much money on my books. I didn't really use them that much.
