The UNM women's basketball team rolled through San Diego State on Wednesday, winning 76-46.

"I like the fact that we handled them pretty well," he said. "I'm not sure that they've been in the 40s for a long, long time."

With the win, UNM improved to 14-7 overall and 4-4 in the Mountain West Conference after starting 0-3 in conference. SDSU slipped to 9-10 overall and 2-6 in the MWC.

Marsh was efficient on offense, as she went 8-of-12 from the field. She also helped limit the Aztecs to just four second-chance points by grabbing 10 defensive rebounds.

Marsh, who had been struggling with an ankle injury, said she is starting to feel healthy. She said she is starting to regain her confidence in games.

"Being injured kind of takes a toll on you mentally because you can't do the things you're used to doing when you're healthy," she said. "I think it was mental and physical for me."

Guards Katie Montgomery and Julie Briody had solid offensive production, scoring 13 points apiece. Montgomery also chipped in with five assists and three blocks.

UNM played well on defense throughout the game. No SDSU player scored more than eight points, and the Aztecs were held to 32 percent shooting in the game, 20 percent from the

3-point line.

The Lobos shot 47 percent from the field and connected on 44 percent of their 3-point attempts.

The Lobos got off to a fast start and didn't allow SDSU to make any extended runs throughout the game. UNM jumped out to a 12-4 lead with 12:47 left in the first half after a Marsh

field goal.

Montgomery scored with six seconds left to give UNM a 36-21 lead at halftime.

Brandi Kimble converted two free throws with 11:46 remaining to extend the lead to 25 points. The Lobos led by as much as 32 points in the game.

Flanagan said he likes how the Lobos are playing recently after the slow start in conference.

"I'm happy with this team," he said. "I want to continue to work with them. I like the way they come to practice to get better. They've never given up on

themselves."
