DL: When did you move here from

Quebec?

MC: Only for this semester.

DL: So, you'll be going back home after this semester?

MC: Yeah.

DL: Why did you come to New Mexico?

MC: It's actually because I needed an evolution class, and I wanted to study in English, and they only had two universities in the United States who offer that class in the springtime.

DL: What's Quebec like compared to the United States?

MC: Actually, compared to New Mexico, it's pretty much the same thing. People are nice. It's a little bit more safe in Quebec.

DL: When you go back to Quebec, what's the first thing about New Mexico you're going to tell your friends?

MC: I guess all the people were nice. It's like I've been writing in my e-mail. Everybody here is just so nice. When I need help, I just ask.

DL: Why do you think they're so nice?

MC: I don't know. Maybe it's in their nature. I don't know if it's like that all over the (United) States.

DL: What's the New Mexico weather like compared to Quebec?

MC: It's so much warmer. It's totally like, minus 20 Celsius - which is about minus 50 Fahrenheit - right now in Quebec. So, it's really much warmer.

DL: Are you sad you're missing out on that?

MC: Yeah, actually. Winter is my favorite season. It's good. I'm going to ski in Colorado.

DL: Are you a good skier?

MC: Yes.

DL: Have you been skiing for a long time?

MC: Yeah, I skied since I was 4.

DL: Did you ever compete?

MC: No, I just ski for fun. I'm not that much into competition.

DL: What's the strangest thing that's happened to you since you've been in New Mexico?

MC: I guess it's like when you walk on Central (Avenue), sometimes guys just stop their car and say, "Hey, I know you. You want to get a ride?" Uh, no. I arrived here last week. I don't know you. That's a little bit different.
