daily lobo asks you:

What do you think about the city of Albuquerque banning the use of handheld cell phones while driving?

It's kind of bullcrap. I think it's terrible. You can't drive around talking on the phone. Sometimes it's hard. There might be an emergency or talking on an important call or something. It's kind of hard to do it when you're not driving - to pull over. It's kind of expensive to get a ticket for just using your phone. I'm from up north, and in Santa Fe, it was hard. People that have jobs can't drive around calling back and forth.

Mass communication

I think it's a good idea because people aren't paying attention when they're driving with a cell phone. They're paying attention to holding their phone. They're talking to that person, and they get into that conversation. You don't see the person that's next to you, and you cause people to wreck into the next person.

I don't think it's a good law. I think that plenty of people can pay attention to more than one thing at one time and be able to do other activities, especially driving. I think it can be a very helpful tool if you're lost or something. So all in all, I don't think talking is bad. Texting though, that could be a different thing because it takes your view away from the road. As far as talking on the phone goes, I don't think that should be illegal at all.

I'm pretty positive with that. I just started driving myself, and I just got my driver's license. I pretty much can't take my phone out while I'm driving, because I'm too concentrated. Seeing people who are driving and talking on the phone scares me, because they don't see me. They're not even paying attention to what they're doing.

I think it's probably a good thing. I don't usually talk on the phone while I'm driving anyway. I don't mind. If it helps prevent accidents, why not?

I think it's a good idea because my mom had an accident. Well, not an accident. She just crashed into another car while using her cell phone. It's responsible.
