The Board of Regents approved an operating budget of $1.7 billion dollars for the 2006-07 school year Tuesday.
The budget is a $106 million, or 6.7 percent, increase from last year's.
Also included in the budget is a 5.5 percent increase in tuition along with a 4.25 percent increase in faculty salaries.
The budget includes nearly $567 million for main campus, $433 million for the Health Sciences Center and $426 million for UNM hospitals.

Popejoy Hall will receive $7.7 million with the new budget, compared to the $4.8 million it received in 2005-06 - an increase of almost 60 percent. Anderson Schools of Management received an increase of 20 percent from $6.8 million to $8.2 million.
The custodial division of Physical Plant went from $4.1 million to $3.8 million - a decrease of 2.6 percent. The registrar's budget fell $1.37 million to $1.298 million for a decrease of 5.3 percent.
