the daily lobo asks you:

A minimum wage proposal failed to pass in Albuquerque in November. What do you think about Gov. Bill Richardson's proposal to increase the state's minimum wage from $5.15 an hour to $7.50 an hour?

Samantha Brandt, Senior, Communication & Journalism

"I think it's a good idea - a minimum wage raise. However, with a raise, everything will inflate and be back to stage one."

Dustin Prelo, Freshman, Business

"They should not raise it, (because it) makes all prices increase. Prices increase, and it is harder to live and get food and stuff."

Lyle Begay, Junior Civil engineering

"It's no simple thing just raising the minimum wage. It comes with economic strife, and it's not worth it. Other things need to be worried about."

Cary Dougerty, Senior, Physics

"I don't really know much about it. Seems like a good idea for college students around here. They kind of have to scrape to get a living. But I don't know background on this."

Aaron Wantuck, Junior, Pre-Med

"I don't make minimum wage; I make like $60,000. Personally I don't think there should be a raise in minimum wage. My philosophy is to go to school, get an education, pick a field, something significant, something substantial that you can make money in, for example pharmaceutical. Go for it, and get a family. Minimum-wage jobs are not careers."
