A UNM Police officer was dispatched to Mesa Vista Hall when it was reported a man was attempting to break into the building, according to a police report. The officer reported he saw a man fitting the given description walking on the south side of the building. The man had his pants down and his genitals were exposed, according to the report.
The officer then asked the man for his ID. He was identified as a man who had previously been barred from UNM, according to the report. The man began running from the officer when he was told he was going to be arrested, the report stated. No further information was given in the report.
April 28
A man filed a report with UNM Police when he noticed a large nail in his tire that caused it to go flat, the report stated. The man told an officer the person who changed his tire said it was caused when he rolled over a nail while reversing. The man told the officer the only time he went into reverse in the previous 24 hours was when he left work on campus.
According to the report, the man said he has had eight flat tires caused by nails on UNM property. He told the officer he suspects someone is purposely causing damage to his vehicle. There are no suspects, according to the report.
April 30
While on patrol, a UNM Police officer was dispatched to the Student Residence Center when student patrol reported two men were littering, according to a police report.

The men told the officer they had been drinking alcohol earlier in the day and left beer and wine bottles on the stairs. The officer wrote in the report the bottles were hazardous for people going down the stairs from the second floor.
The report stated the two men were given citations for littering.
April 30
A security guard at The Pit approached a UNM Police officer when a woman reported her ex-boyfriend hit her outside the arena, a police report stated. The woman told the officer she was sitting on a curb when the man hit her with a closed fist in the head.
She told the officer the man was her ex-boyfriend and they had broken up a week before the incident. She also told the officer the man put his hands around her neck and tried to choke her. The man told the officer he did not try to choke her.
The officer wrote in the police report that he noticed several red marks on the woman's throat and a small red lump on her forehead. There was no more information in the report.
