Saundra Brown-Savoy, the deputy counsel for the Health Sciences Center, resigned Friday.

Brown-Savoy was one of the highest paid lawyers at UNM, though she had not taken the New Mexico Bar Exam, which is a requirement in her job description, according to an August Albuquerque Journal article.

She made $137,000 a year, according to the article.

Sam Giammo, spokesman for the Health Sciences Center, said Brown-Savoy said she resigned for personal reasons.

Brown-Savoy has been in her position for a year and a half.
