March 1

A woman contacted UNM police when she saw a man driving a BMW in circles around two girls in a parking lot on campus, according to a police report.

The woman, who is a UNM employee, told the officer the man in the car was scaring the two girls. When the officer approached the man in the vehicle, he said he was having car problems and was circling the parking lot to warm up the engine, according to the report. The employee told the officer she tried to stop the man in the vehicle, but failed.

The report stated that the man in the car was also employed by UNM and no charges were filed.

A UNM police officer was dispatched to the Sleep Center on North Campus when an employee found $130 in an Altoids mints box, according to a police report.

The employee told the officer he found the box on a windowsill in an exam room. The report stated the can had not been claimed by any patients and was turned over to an official in the department.

March 3

A UNM police officer was dispatched to Clark Hall when faculty complained of unauthorized fliers in the building, according to a police report.

A faculty member told the officer they had removed the fliers earlier, but new ones were posted. The report stated the fliers were for free food at a local restaurant and were posted in a secure area and blocked safety signs.

There was no physical damage done to the property and no suspects or witnesses, according to the report.

March 6

A man contacted UNM police when his car was vandalized on Sigma Chi Road, according to a police report.

The man told the officer that his rear windshield was smashed between 1 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The man told police he was not aware of anyone who would be upset with him. According to the report, it was not known what was used to break the window and there are no suspects.
