Feb. 22

A UNM police officer was dispatched to the La Posada parking lot because of a fight between two men, according to a police report.

One man told the officer the other struck him in the face. The other man told the officer he threw the punch in self-defense.

Both men provided the officer with written statements, and no charges were filed, according to the report.

Feb. 22

A man came into the UNM Police Department to file a report regarding an ex-student who he said harasses him, according to a police report.

The man is an instructor at UNM and told police the former student has been sending him threatening e-mails since 1998.

According to the report, on the evening of Feb. 21, the woman entered his classroom in Dane Smith Hall and began making loud noises. The woman also left him telephone messages, the report stated. He told police he filed a similar report on the same person in 2004.

Feb. 22

A man contacted the UNM Police Department after a fellow fraternity member assaulted him, according to a police report.

The man told police the other member was angry with him because he was involved in the member's suspension from the fraternity. The man said the other man left a threatening message on his cell phone, the report stated.

The man told the officer he is afraid the threats will be carried out and provided police with a written statement.

Feb. 25

A UNM police officer was dispatched to 2501 Campus Blvd. when a security guard reported a juvenile man asleep in a running vehicle, a police report stated.

The guard told the officer when he tapped on the window to wake up the man, he threw up on himself. The man told the officer he had been drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana. The officer pulled off the man's jacket and a small glass pipe fell out of the pocket, according to the report.

The man's mother was called to pick up her son and he was given citations for drinking, the report stated.

Feb. 26

Several men were arguing outside the Santa Clara dormitory, and a U NM police officer was dispatched to the scene, according to a police report.

The officer searched all the individuals for weapons, the report stated. The men told the officer they were arguing about a woman. The officer reported there were no signs of physical battery and he told non-UNM students to leave the campus.

According to the report, there were no further incidents.
