February 1

A woman reported false imprisonment and battery to the UNM Police Department. The incident took place at Telos House on Jan. 31, the report states.

According to the report, the woman told police she was "horseplaying" with three other residents. They continued wrestling until one man took the woman's shoe and refused to give it back, the report stated.

For the next half hour, the woman tried to retrieve the shoe, she told police. She told police the man used physical force to restrain her. She said the subject let her go when she began screaming, the report stated. He still refused to return her shoe she told police.

The shoe was returned the next morning, according to the statement. She didn't press charges.

University police were dispatched to UNM Hospital when a woman reported her wallet was stolen.

The woman told police she was holding her wallet under her arm while standing in line in the hospital cafeteria. When she went for her wallet to pay, she noticed it was gone, the report stated. She told police the wallet was turned in to UNMH security, and she retrieved it.

About $50 was reported missing from her wallet, according to the statement.

February 4

An officer was dispatched to Bandolier Hall East Friday when a custodian reported seeing a man stealing a desk chair from the building, according to a police report.

The custodian told police he saw the man place the chair into a pickup truck and drive away.

The custodian, according to the report, could not identify the man. He told police he didn't know whether the truck belonged to the University. According to the report, the custodian told the officer there was more than one person in the vehicle.

The report stated the officer who filed it was unsure if larceny occurred.

February 4

A UNMPD officer was purchasing dinner at Ho Ho's Chinese Restaurant when he noticed the $50 bill he was handed back as change was counterfeit, according to a report.

The officer stated in the report that he then referred the case to Albuquerque Police Department because the restaurant is located outside of the University's jurisdiction. APD referred the officer to the FBI, according to the report.

The officer stated in the report he was told by the FBI to contact the Secret Service. The officer was advised by the Secret Service to place the counterfeit bill into evidence, the report stated, and a Secret Service agent was scheduled to meet with University Police on Monday to turn the report and evidence over to the agency.

The manager at Ho Ho's told police that an unknown person cashed the bill at her store, but she could not identify the perpetrator.
