* Wednesday night, a candlelight vigil was held at the Aquinas Newman Center at UNM. More than 1,000 vigils were organized nationwide to honor families of U.S. and Iraqi soldiers who have been killed in Iraq.
* At 6:15 this morning, Albuquerque Fire Department and UNM Police Department addressed students at the Phi Gamma Delta house on Mesa Vista. The event was in commemoration of the third Sept. 11 Memorial at UNM set to honor local police and fire departments for efforts to keep UNM and the surrounding community safe.
* A day to remember positive societal values and to celebrate freedom will open today at the Main Library, 501 Copper Ave., NW. Events begin at 11 a.m.
* Albuquerque's commemoration of Sept. 11 will be Saturday on Civic Plaza. The event begins at noon with speakers, music and patriotic tributes at 4 p.m.
