In Monday's article, "UNMH to give 35,000 free flu shots," the influenza doses were purchased by UNM Hospital and did not come from a grant. The vaccines will be administered to hospital patients, employees, Health Sciences Center faculty and staff and students enrolled in HSC academic units - not all UNM students. It is not possible to get the flu from the vaccine as stated in the article. It takes 10-14 days, not months, for the immunization to be effective. The number of pharmacy students and pharmacists represents the state number, not the local number. The errors were made in reporting.
