A UNM student remains in satisfactory condition at UNM Hospital after allegedly shooting at her boyfriend and then crashing his motorcycle on I-40 after an extended police pursuit Thursday.
Albuquerque police officers originally responded to a call of gunshots being fired at a home in the 900 block of Tijeras Avenue at about 11 a.m.
They made contact with a man claiming to be the boyfriend of 31-year-old Communications and Journalism student Grace Bologna, who said she had held him against his will and shot at him several times with a .40-caliber pistol.
During the officer's investigation of the scene they saw Bologna, who had taken the man's motorcycle, driving past the scene and pursued her.
The chase led northbound on I-25 and then east on I-40 at speeds in excess of 100 mph, said Trish Ahrensfield, spokeswoman for APD.
As the chase continued near Tramway Boulevard, officers called off the pursuit because of bad road conditions and the high volume of traffic, Ahrensfield said.

Bologna soon lost control of the motorcycle, hitting a truck and crashing into a street sign.
She was transported to UNMH and was in serious condition.
Cindy Foster, a spokeswoman for the hospital, said as of Sunday Bologna's condition had been upgraded to satisfactory.
Ahrensfield said Bologna faces several charges upon her release from UNMH, including battery, evading police officers, leaving the scene of a crime and kidnapping.
