Missing methadone reported at hospital

A nurse at UNM Hospital reported a dosage of methadone missing on Dec. 25.

According to the police report, the nurse called UNM police when the drug was noticed missing after a standard narcotics count. Police contacted the nurse, who stated in the report that no narcotics were missing in a count the day before.

Employees with access to the area were questioned, but the narcotics remained unaccounted for.

A patient at UNM Hospital was found to have what might be illegal narcotics in his possession Jan. 2 after going to the hospital to receive treatment for a dog bite to the face.

According to the police report, hospital security found a syringe and a foil wrapper containing a tar-like substance on the patient, who was identified in the report as Antonio Lopez.

UNMPD was contacted and Lopez admitted to police that the substance and syringe were his.

After confirmation of an outstanding warrant and release from UNMH, Lopez was taken into custody.

Vehicle reported stolen from UNM parking lot

A vehicle was reported stolen from the UNM Hospital parking structure on Dec. 25.

The victim stated in the report that he went to check his vehicle, a 1987 Toyota Forerunner, and noticed it was missing.

UNMPD made a search of the area but was unable to find the vehicle.

Woman causing ruckus at UNMH detained

A woman was taken into custody at UNM Hospital Dec. 24 after UNM police received a call for a disorderly patient.

The police report states Elizabeth Hurley caused a disturbance when she was informed she would not be receiving medication.

When police arrived, Hurley admitted to having heroin and drug paraphernalia in her possession. Hospital security also informed officers Hurley had a small amount of a tar-like substance, a syringe filled with a brown liquid and a pipe.

The items were sent to a state lab for testing. Felony charges against Hurley are pending test results.

Paintings vandalized at Radiology Dept.

Two paintings in the lobby of the Radiology Department of UNM Hospital were reported damaged Jan. 9.

A hospital employee stated in the police report that at 4:30 p.m. the paintings were undamaged. However, when she returned at 9:30 p.m. to remove the paintings, she noticed they had been damaged with a sharp object.

Police have no suspects in the case.

Vehicle missing after being left in lot for week

A vehicle was reported stolen to UNM police from the University's parking structure on Dec. 25.

Charles Dampf stated in the police report that he parked the vehicle at about 12:30 p.m on Dec. 17. When he returned on Dec. 25 to pick up his car, a 1990 Toyota Camry, the vehicle was gone. Dampf stated he searched the parking structure and main campus in an effort to find his vehicle.

Parking Services was notified to determine if the vehicle had been towed.
