Supervisor reports possible embezzlement
A supervisor in University Hospital's Department of Family and Community Medicine reported a case of suspected embezzlement to campus police Aug. 22.
A former employee, who was terminated 18 months ago, reportedly committed the alleged crime.
According to the police report, the supervisor showed police two receipts from December 2001 and August 2000 indicating that $387.01 was stolen from the department. The former employee used department money to pay for items listed on the receipts, according to the report, but would then "pay herself and pocket the money."
Man reportedly beaten during football game
During the UNM and Texas State-San Marcos football game Saturday, campus police were sent to University Stadium after receiving a report of battery.

When the police officer arrived, he met with a 51-year-old man who reportedly had several bruises on his face.
The man, who the report indicates was intoxicated, told the officer gang members approached him, words were exchanged, and he was then struck in the face.
The victim told police the gang member who assaulted him walked away toward the stadium.
The victim refused medical treatment and police have no suspects at this time.
Patient charged with attacking hospital staff
A 25-year-old Albuquerque man was cited for battery after allegedly attacking two X-ray technicians at University Hospital Aug. 27.
The police report states that Michael Mora, who was a patient at the hospital, was being X-rayed for an arm injury when he became violent and began kicking one of the X-ray technicians.
While police were waiting to speak with the technician, they were called to the X-ray room because Mora allegedly became violent with another technician.
The report states that when police arrived at the room, Mora was standing outside, bleeding from his injury and from where his I.V. was removed.
Mora denied kicking either of the two technicians, the report states.
Police took a witness report regarding the incident and cited Mora for battery.
