The owner of a Lobo sports merchandise store in The Pit is calling a robbery that netted nearly $2,800 worth of clothes a "shoplifting."
The robbery took place just over two weeks ago at the Lobo Store inside The Pit, 1111 University Blvd. SE.
Greg Edgeington, owner of the store and president of Graphic Industries, the parent company of the Lobo Store which owns college merchandise stores on university campuses across the country, said the employee who was working during the robbery did get a little scared, but was not injured
"Since it happened, they decided to add two extra cameras," Edgeington said.
The robbery took place April 14, at about 12:15 p.m. UNM police responded to a call of a robbery in progress after one of the store's alarms sounded.
Edgeington said the three suspects entered the store and while one of them distracted the sales clerk, the other two grabbed two racks of clothes and ran out the door.

According to the UNM police report, the suspects are described as two males and one female. The report states that one suspect assaulted the employee working in the store. The other two then ripped down a hanger displaying Lobo basketball jerseys, grabbed shorts and some more jerseys and then all three ran out the store's front door.
The report states that the trio escaped in an older model, rusty Chevrolet van before police arrived.
Stolen in the robbery were15 baseball jerseys worth $791.25 and 19 basketball jerseys worth $892.75. The thieves also broke the front door window causing $1,100 worth of damage.
"We've been robbed before," Edgeington said.
No money was stolen in the robbery.
Edgeington said he will have to pay for the lost merchandise and damage himself.
"I just eat it," he said.
The police report indicates the case has not been forwarded to a police officer or a detective for investigation.
UNM police were not available Wednesday for comment on the robbery.
