The opportunity has come for the students of UNM to get a glimpse of our next president of the University of New Mexico.
Beginning this week and during the following two weeks, the final five UNM presidential finalists will be on campus visiting our University.
Each candidate will have a chance to experience what defines UNM to be one of the most unique and notable institutions in our nation. Just as importantly, each candidate will have a chance to interact with students, faculty and staff.
As the undergraduate student representative on the UNM Presidential Search Committee, I can assure you, with utmost confidence, that each the five finalists selected by the Board of Regents was narrowed down through a difficult process by the Presidential Search Committee.
An immense group of many talented and qualified individuals from some of the best schools in the nation were vying for this position.

Numerous applications were received and meticulously reviewed. Now, the best and final five presidential candidates are being presented to you.
Each finalist possesses outstanding career backgrounds and life experiences.
Each finalist is a well-accomplished and successful individual.
Each finalist has demonstrated high standards of integrity and achievement.
Fellow students, I am encouraging you to please attend the student forums to meet these five presidential candidate finalists - show your support in this significant decision for the future of UNM and New Mexico.
