Branch director down to 4 finalists

Staff Report

After a nationwide, five-month search that attracted more than 50 applicants, UNM Provost Brian Foster announced on April 8 a list of four finalists for the UNM-Gallup branch executive director position.

"The search committee worked well together and, along with the national advertising campaign, put together a good pool," UNM Deputy Provost Richard Holder said. "We've got a strong group of finalists.

"On paper, the candidates have the credentials to help us in those and other areas," Holder said, adding that he has not yet met the finalists. "The trick will be to meet with these folks face to face and see how they will do in a close, one-on-one setting."

Each finalist will spend two days at the branch visiting with students, faculty, staff and administrators. The candidates and the dates of their trips to Gallup are:

Judith Doerr, Ph.D. Doerr was temporary director of Institutional Effectiveness at Cochise College, Sierra Vista, Ariz. for the latter part of 2002. Doerr was vice president for Instructional Services for Northland Pioneer College, Holbrook, Ariz., from 1997 to 2001. She will visit the branch April 21-22.
