ASUNM Profiles: Nick Trudell

UNM senior Nick Trudell said he will make a good ASUNM Senator because he is very organized, in touch with the needs of the students and easy to approach.

Trudell, a member of the Cherries to Silver campaign, said that his main objective, if elected, will be to bring the fun back to the UNM campus.

"I would like to bring back the homecoming parade and dramatically increase the amount of student-oriented activities on campus," Trudell said. "Our goal is to increase ASUNM's visibility in the community and let everyone know that the organization is here for their benefit and that we are willing to work with them to make their experience here as good as possible."

Trudell said that making ASUNM more student-friendly and striving to create more activities on campus will go a long way in enhancing the college experience at UNM.

"We are always looking for new ways to show students that we would appreciate them approaching us with their concerns or ideas," Trudell said. "As far as increasing the number of activities, students need as many outlets as possible to vent their stress and appreciate their time as a college student."

Trudell, an organizational communications major who is acting president of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and an ROTC student, will enter the U.S. Air Force as a commissioned officer upon graduation from UNM.

"Being elected as senator would be a tremendous honor for me and I would go to any length to help the UNM community realize all of its goals into the future," Trudell said.

He could not name any of the UNM Regents. He named SEPAS and UNM's College Republicans and Democrats as three student groups on campus. He could not name either the president of UNM or its provost.
