Editor,
For years now I have noticed a trend that the Daily Lobo practices. The trend is to print mainly negative stories about the Greek System.
Yes, I have occasionally seen positive stories about the men and women in fraternities and sororities. I also understand that writing stories on community service, the high GPA of Greeks, or even campus involvement may be quite boring, but at least then a fair and true representation would show all aspects of Greek life.
It is very stereotypical to assume that all fraternity men do is drink and hook up. Unfortunately for us, this is the image that you deliver to the rest of the University. Fraternities and sororities work extremely hard at a reputation of service, leadership and fellowship. Just remember that the good obviously outweighs the bad or else the University of New Mexico would have asked us to leave years ago.
So please try to include the positives along with the negatives so that the students at UNM can see that fraternities and sororities are not such "bad places" and their members are in fact some of the most outstanding people at this University.
