Senior baseball player Dusty Young and sophomore Amanda Barnes of the women’s track team are this week’s New Mexico Daily Lobo Athletes of the Week.
Young led UNM to a three game sweep of Texas A&M Corpus Christi this weekend as the team improved to 22-10. The shortstop extended his hitting streak to 30 games by going 4-5 on Sunday with six RBIs.
Barnes won three events in a track meet in El Paso this weekend. She threw a personal best, 47 feet 5 inches in the shot put for first place in the event. Barnes also took first in the discus and the hammer throw.
