UNM staff recognized

Staff Report

Five UNM employees have received this year's award recognizing excellence in outstanding University staff service.

The Gerald W. May Staff Recognition Awards were presented to Lucille Cordova, Carolyn Gonzales, Ray More, Susan Quintana and Carol Vollbrecht at a President's Office ceremony Wednesday. Each received an inscribed plaque and a $250 check.

The award recipients were selected from 38 nominees

The award program, named after the former University president, established by funds earmarked by May. A matching amount was made available from the Regents' Endowment Fund, designated at the end of May's tenure, in recognition of his service and assistance in creating the UNM Staff Council.

The five recipients were selected by UNM President Chris Garcia, following a screening process conducted by the Staff Council and the Rewards and Recognition Committee.
