The UNM women's soccer team defeated Portland State University Sunday take one of two matches its final pair of non-conference road games.
The Lobos (7-5-0) lost to Oregon State University (7-2-2) Friday, but bounced back against the Division I-AA Vikings Sunday afternoon to get a second road trip split in as many weekends.
UNM 2, Portland State 0
The Lobos got second half goals from freshman forward Nicole Pitcock and sophomore midfielder Rachael Addison and sophomore goalkeeper Kristen Winters notched her fourth shutout of the year in defeating the Vikings.

UNM was outshot 4-3 by PSU in the first frame, but dominated play throughout the half. The Lobos sophomore goalkeeper Kristen Winters made one save in the period.
UNM wasted little time getting on the board in the second half. In the 47th minute, junior forward Marte Dolva sent a pass over the Viking defense to Pitcock who chipped the shot past PSU's junior goalkeeper Joell Giger for the 1-0 lead.
The Lobos got an insurance goal in the 58th minute when Addison scored off a corner kick from junior midfielder Erchen Theys.
"We played hard for the entire 90 minutes and never let up," head coach Kit Vela said in a. press release. "We really came together today and put away our scoring chances."
UNM outshot PSU 6-5 in the second half to bring the shot total to nine for both sides.
Giger made two saves in the second half after not having to make any in the first half.
The aggressive Lobos received two yellow cards and were whistled for 19 fouls for the game - 12 in the second half. PSU picked up 15 fouls.
Oregon State 5, UNM 2
The Beavers had a big second half, scoring four goals to defeat the Lobos.
UNM keeper Kristen Winters made five saves, including one on a penalty kick in the 60th minute, in the loss. OSU bombarded Winters in the second half, sending 16 of its 24 shots in the second frame.
The Lobos managed five shots in each half totaling 10 for the game.
The Beavers started the scoring in the 18th minute when senior forward Katie Henderson scored on a shot from five yards out.
UNM missed on several scoring opportunities early, but managed to equalize in the 55th minute, when Erchen Theys took advantage of a mix-up in the Beaver backfield and slammed in a shot from the top of the 18-yard box.
Oregon State responded with three goals in a five-minute period to salt the game away. Freshman forward Brianna Monka scored in the 66th and 70th minutes.
Junior midfielder Courtney Carter finished the scoring flourish 45 seconds later to bring the score to 4-1.
UNM got another goal in the 71st minute when senior midfielder Michelle Longmire scored off a through ball from Theys. OSU finished the scoring in the 81st minute on another goal from Carter.
The Lobos end their 10-game road stand and begin Mountain West Conference play next weekend with matches at San Diego State University on Oct. 11 and the University of Nevada at Las Vegas on Oct. 13.
UNM's next home game is Oct. 17 against MWC foe Brigham Young University.
