Editor,
I am not the type of person that makes an issue out of being a vegetarian; I don't plan to do so here. I am, however, a little disappointed that there are not more choices for vegetarians on campus.
I understand that the majority of the students on campus probably eat meat, but I do not believe that it is an overwhelming majority. A good indicator of this is how quickly the few vegetarian items on campus sell out. These options seem to be limited to potato burritos, which usually sell out by 10 a.m. or PB&Js. Even the salads have chicken added.
I know that the new SUB is not far off and that those in charge of menu planning for the current vendors are probably not interested in making any drastic changes. I do hope that those of us who do not eat meat will be considered when the new SUB is finally in operation.
In the mean time, could they make another couple dozen of those potato burritos?
