Athletes of the Week

Senior volleyball player Vanessa Shields and sophomore cross-country runner Cameron Clarke are this week's New Mexico Daily Lobo Athletes

of the Week.

Shields had 26 kills, two assists, eight service aces, eight digs and five blocks in the two victories against New Mexico State University and the Air Force Academy this past week.

The Grover Beach, Calif.-native was instrumental in pushing the Lobos winning streak to five matches .

Clarke led UNM to its third straight cross-country victory. Clarke finished first among collegiate athletes completing the 8,000-meter course in a personal best 23:51.

Clarke helped propel the Lobos over 29 other teams at the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif.
