Editor,
I am an over 50-year old grad student, and if memory serves me, the women of my generation worked hard and paid dearly for the opportunity to express ourselves in whatever manner we felt appropriate - whether it be to dance at TD's or to be an opponent of the very concept of their advertising in a university newspaper.
I can appreciate many of the students, faculty and staff who took offense at the ad. Many of us are offended by what we see and hear daily, but one of the purposes of higher education is the ability to be exposed to diverse points of view and opinions, and for each of us to use our experiences, knowledge and education to make an educated decision whether to accept or reject the opinion for ourselves without infringing on the rights of others.
