Editor,
First I must say that I am dismayed that the incoming editor seems to have the same liberal leanings as the last editor. I was hoping for some balance, but I guess I am in the U.S. education system and it is certainly conducive to liberal policies.
I think that the journalists and politicians that have a cold chill on their spine are in the extreme minority. I am so extremely frustrated with your total blindness and inability to look beyond your own agenda, much as you accuse the president of doing. "If you hate something, it's in you too," in the words of Eddie Vedder.
Apparently, you choose to ignore the fact that many of these terrorist groups are sponsored by tyrannical governments. The terrorists groups you claim operate so secretly operate with impunity in these countries, much as they did in Afghanistan.
These same governments won't allow women to be seen in public without a man and some believe it's okay to stone a child to death if they disobey the father.
You also seem to so easily forget about Saddam Hussein and the little episode with the poison gas up in the northern part of Iraq - you know, where he gassed thousands of his own people with nerve gas because they rebelled. I think that reeks of Nazi tactics, mass genocide maybe.

And if you think those are "peaceful methods against terrorism," then you are dramatically misinformed. It's this "make love and not war" attitude that let Sept. 11 happen. The whole plot was hatched during the Clinton White House. He wanted to ignore it and hope that it would go away. Well, it didn't.
I am glad we finally got a president who is willing to stand up for the national security interest of the United States and is less concerned with getting hummers in the Oval Office.
I don't agree with Bush 100 percent (alternative fuel sources), but he sure has done the right thing concerning the fight against terrorism. Perhaps if your sister or brother is murdered by some blood-thirsty terrorists then the fog of idealistic dreams will be lifted and you can see the reality of terrorism and the threat it poses to the world as a whole.
