Roberto Contreras, 19, of Southwest Tree Specialists, competes in the "Work Climb" during the Third Annual New Mexico State Tree Climbing Championships Saturday at Taylor Park. The event was co-sponsored by the UNM Physical Plant Department and featured five scored events. Competitors vied for a $500 chainsaw, a cash prize and the chance to represent New Mexico at the regional competition in Denver, Colo., June 15.
