The UNM men's tennis team trounced the Air Force Academy 4-0 in the first round of the Mountain West Conference Tournament in Las Vegas, Nev.
The third-seeded Lobos (16-8) are set to face second-seeded Brigham Young University today. Three UNM players also were named to the all-conference team this week. Sophomore Divan Coetzee, senior Michael Polasek and junior Bart Scott each received the honor.

The Lobo women's tennis team advanced to the semi-finals of the Mountain West Tournament with a 4-1 win against the Air Force Academy in Provo, Utah.
UNM will face the University of Nevada at Las Vegas today, with the winner advancing to the final. Lobos Tjasa Suvak, Sandy Lukowski and Tiffany Robertson were each named to the all-conference team.

The UNM track and field team return home Saturday to compete in the 12th Annual Don Kirby Invitational.
Teams competing in the meet are Adams State College, Dine College, Garden City College, Juarez Institute of Technology, New Mexico State, South Plains College and Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute of Albuquerque.
Sophomore Ben Ortega was named conference athlete of the week for his performance in last week's Mt. San Antonio College Relays. He qualified for the NCAA with a time of 29 minutes, 35.07 seconds while finishing fourth in the 10,000-meter run.

The Lobo softball team will go up against two conference opponents this weekend at home. UNM plays a pair of doubleheaders with the University of Nevada at Las Vegas Saturday at 1 p.m., and San Diego State Sunday at 1 p.m.
