Mixed results for track's split squads

The UNM track and field team turned in mixed performances in two invitational events.

Many of the Lobos participated in the New Mexico State University Springtime Classic in Las Cruces on Saturday, while 17 members competed in the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin, Texas, during the weekend.

UNM won five events against NMSU, the University of Texas at El Paso and the University of Juarez.

Jamie Hall won the 800-meter run with a time of two minutes, 24.43 seconds, while Bobbi Hall earned her first collegiate victory in the shot put with a throw of 42-feet, 6.75 inches. Veronica Gonzales won the javelin event with a toss of 110-feet, two-inches.

Sophomore Jason Berker-meyer earned first place in the hammer throw with a toss of 145 feet, 10 inches. Senior Jammy Kiggundu won the long jump with a mark of 20 feet, five inches.

The Lobos were winless inthe event and junior David Lloyd saw his four-meet undefeated streak in the 400-meter hurdles end with a sixth-place time of 51.82 seconds.

The whole team travels to Tempe, Ariz., Saturday for the Sun Angel Classic.
