Editor,
I am writing to respond to Michael Kare's letter, which appeared on Friday, April 26 in the Lobo.
I agree that the Lobo should possibly have held off on publishing a suspect's name in the paper for all to see. However, this is not limited to the Daily Lobo; the national press has savaged Robert Blake's name and reputation for all intents and purposes. He cannot even receive bond or bail, though he did post bail for his chauffer. Media pundits still allude to the guilt of O.J. Simpson, even though he was acquitted and the case was never on a solid foundation to begin with. I believe that Mr. Kare, if he is strong in his convictions, should meet personally with the new Daily Lobo editor and explain his concerns and the concerns of the Greek community.
I also would like to write a quick response to another letter in Friday's Daily Lobo. The gentleman who wrote that the administration may take away the Sigma Chi house and charter, but can never take away their brotherhood came off like the last line came straight out of the film "Braveheart." It was a great retort to the bad rap, but just a tad clichÇd.
