The UNM baseball team is playing well of late, and the Lobos hope to continue their impressive play this weekend at home against the Air Force Academy.

UNM starts a three-game series versus the Falcons on Friday in Mountain West Conference action. The Lobos (13-12, 3-0 in the conference) have won nine-of-11, all at home, and end the 14-game homestand against Air Force (13-10, 1-2).

The UNM softball team will be looking to get back on the winning track when it faces two opponents on the road this weekend

The Lobos have started the season 6-13-1 and will try to earn a couple of victories against some tough competition. UNM faces sixth-ranked Arizona State University in a doubleheader Friday in Arizona, then travels to Las Cruces Sunday to battle intrastate rival New Mexico State University.

The Sun Devils are 28-7 on the season and hold a 30-5 all-time record against the Lobos, including a 5-3 win this year at the KIA Classic Tournament last weekend.

UNM might have an easier time against the Aggies, who are 12-21 this season.

The UNM ski team has excelled in the classroom this season as 10 Lobos have earned Academic All-American honors.

The UNM student athletes include on the men's side juniors Lars Bjorge and Henrik Motys; seniors Tomas Dohnal and Fredrik Steen; and freshman Gottfried Schwarzmueller.

On the women's side are sophomores Jennifer Delich, Lena Jensen and Pirkko Pulkkanen; senior Kristina Strandberg and freshman Helena Woodrow.
